Sometimes, it seems that a “message” is hard to come by when it comes to writing these Friday messages. Words aren’t present, there isn’t a “theme” that needs to be addressed . . . and I struggle for content.
Other times, because of very tangible experiences with The Divine, words are so much I can’t figure out where to start.
This is one of those times.
This week I gathered in the Catskills with 30 other religious professionals from all over the world, thanks to a study conducted by NYU and Johns Hopkins. This was a “reunion” of sorts because now that the study, which began in 2017, is complete and the results will be published before the end of the year, it was time to pull all of the participants together for us to hear one another’s stories.
Religious studies professors at renowned seminaries, rabbis, priests, and ALL walks of religious life – from Islam to Fundamental Pentecostal, were represented. For 3 days, we discussed our understanding of God concerning our calling, our vocational roles in ministry, the study led by Hopkins/NYU, and our own personal experience of The Divine.
It was so fascinating! Truly!!!!!
And ironically, Sunday, we are going to talk about the “Power of God . . . Giving and Receiving.” Honestly, I can’t wait! I have so many things to share with you, if I try to put them here, they will be lost because there is just an inadequacy of ability to express the awe in the written word.
I hope you have a safe holiday weekend! Whether you join in online, in-person Sunday, or on-demand, I do believe we will have a transformational conversation together!
By the way . . . this week, West celebrated a HUGE God-thing through AMPED Camp! Layne, Lexi, and their team did an AMAZING job, and YOU made it possible through your generosity!!!! THANK YOU!
